The towns we run calls to cover a wide spread, but the housing underneath most of them tells a fairly consistent story: built mostly from 1975 through 2018, with the heaviest concentration from the 1980s and '90s, across the 11 communities we serve out from Killeen. That means a garage door system here is more likely to be original hardware from a few decades back than brand new, no matter which of these towns you're in.
Starting close in, Fort Hood and Harker Heights (both about 5 miles from Killeen) and Nolanville (8 miles) sit well within that mid-century-to-'90s build window. Copperas Cove, 11 miles out, follows the same pattern. Farther out, Kempner (14 miles), Belton and Salado (both 15 miles) mix that same era with newer infill. Florence, Morgan's Point Resort, Briggs, and Jarrell - the longest drives at 17 to 20 miles - round out the list, and we don't have a finer breakdown of build years for those specific towns beyond the general pattern across the area.
Across the roughly 46,120 households we serve, about 19,069 are owner-occupied houses, which is the group that actually deals with garage door failures directly rather than through a landlord. That owner-occupied share is part of why repair and replacement calls here tend to be about getting a door working again properly, not just patched.
